Policies & Procedures

DO NOT BRING YOUR FIREARM TO THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE

  • Have successfully completed an Ohio Concealed Carry or OPOTA Firearms course.
  • Only one applicant will be processed at a time.
  • You must provide all required documentation at the time of your appointment.
  • We take exact amount only cash or money order
  • You must be at least 21 years of age
  • If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment follow the instructions given in the confirmation e-mail, please do so within 24-48 hours so we can make that time available to another applicant.
  • If you are renewing your license you may do so up to 90 days prior to the expiration date listed on your license, and anytime thereafter. If your license should be expired there is no penalty when renewing. Be aware the State of Ohio only allows you a 30 day grace period to still be able to carry on an expired license. It is your responsibility to give yourself ample time to renew your license to avoid a lapse in coverage under Ohio's Concealed Carry Law.

Any questions anyone may have concerning the Carrying Concealed Weapons Law or if you are applying for a "Temporary Emergency Permit" can be directed to the Sheriff's Office by contacting 614-525-5090
